The 2021 Expedition Cabernet Sauvignon, with 3% Cabernet Franc and 2% Petit Verdot in the blend, is deep garnet-purple in color. After a swirl or two, the nose erupts with wonderfully pure scents of blackcurrant jelly, kirsch, and black raspberries plus suggestions of camphor, violets, and tilled soil with a touch of cinnamon toast. Big, rich, and full-bodied, the palate delivers impactful black fruit and baking spice layers, framed by exquisitely ripe fine-grained tannins and well-knit freshness, finishing long and fragrant.
