Napa Valley Cabernet is our heritage wine and speaks to our 40-year legacy as growers and producers of unparalleled Cabernet. The wine combines select vineyards in Calistoga, Oak Knoll, St. Helena, Stags Leap, Diamond Mountain, and Yountville that complement our estate vineyards in Oakville. These wines are the very embodiment of our long-established house style and are representative of all that is right with Napa Valley Cabernets. Indeed, the marriage of these diverse vineyards has enabled us to craft Napa Valley Cabernet at a nearly inconceivable level.
Far Niente Cabernet Sauvignon opens with boysenberry aromas combined with rich, toasted oak and a hint of espresso. The entry is layered and juicy with a velvety midpalate. Round, coating tannins and cherry fruit lead to a lingering and youthful finish. The 100-acre Martin Stelling Vineyard, located behind the winery in Oakville, is the cornerstone of Far Niente Cabernet Sauvignon. Planted on some of the most beautiful, gravelly loam soil in the Napa Valley, the vineyard uniformly produces wines with supple tannins, bright, forward fruit, and beautiful tannin structure.
An elegant perfume of mixed berries, baking spice, dried lavender and thyme open onto a full palate layered with expansive mixed berry, black tea, toasted oak and spice flavors. Focused and fresh, fine grained tannins support the wine throughout, while the finish is silky, long and lifted.
