The nose of this Highland single malt whisky has heady virgin oak, lemon zest, sweet barley sugar and delicious notes of apple and nutmeg. The palate shows a delightful sweetness evoking memories of candied fruits and vanilla toffee balanced with heather honey, while the finish has a satisfying light spice with a burst of honeyed malt and sweet oakiness. The spirit is first matured in ex-Bourbon casks, lends a zesty character, and then finished in new oak barrels, which lend it subtle spiced aromas, and is un-chill filtered. It won a Silver medal at the 2013 International Wine and Spirit Competition.
