Golden in color, this spirit has aromas of honeyed nuts and a slightly sea-induced salty tang, along with rich toffee and leathery oak notes. The palate shows mellow Sherried nuts and oak wood shavings, while the finish is dry, with mixed spices fading into a lightly briny and Sherried finish. This single malt Scotch from Islay is made from fresh optic barley, which is lightly peated and mixed with pure spring water drawn from the Margadale River. It’s aged for eighteen years in a combination of used Sherry and Bourbon casks, and the spirit scored 94 points from the Whisky Bible.
