Winemaker Rui Robredo Madeira worked his first harvest at a small winery in the village of Vermiosa back in 1987. After traveling to many winemaking regions around the world he returned to the very same estate where his winemaking journey began. He rehabilitated the property in 2011 and launched the Beyra project. These are some of the highest elevation vineyards in Portugal dominated by old vines that have adapted to the rugged climate and rocky, granite soil. This blend spends six months aging in stainless steel vats resulting in a rich, structured style that will continue to improve with time. Vibrant acidity and plenty of wet rock minerality mingle with notes of brûléed grapefruit and ripe golden apple.
