Avelino Vegas is the founder of the family winery that bears his name. He was an excellent person, with extraordinary human qualities and an enormous sense of humor. To celebrate the centenary of his birth we have produced this wine in his honor, and we are proud that it bears his signature.
Single-lot red wine of the Tempranillo variety from old vines, over 80 years old, located in La Aguilera (Burgos). The winery controls centuries-old, low-yielding vineyards in different unique settings. These soils have a limestone and sandy component in the case of Ribera del Duero, which, added to a special climate, produces a Tempranillo of extraordinary quality.

Tasting Notes:

Black cherry colored in the glass, this wine has a nose of cassis and roasted fennel bulb. It is juicy in the mouth, with flavors of pomegranate, cherry, milk chocolate and aniseed. Medium-weight tannins fade into a bright finish.

Firm, thereby quite easily open fragrance of partly dried black berries, a little violet and a trace of tar with meaty nuances, liquorice, wood, coffee grounds, peanut, and earthy notes. Firmly knit, tart dark fruit, surprisingly fresh and polished, nutty-woody, dried-vegetable to tobacco and earthy notes youthful, quite present tannin, bitterish-nutty tones, some soot, lots of power and good persistence, just seems rather closed, some dark chocolate and coffee grounds, peppery traces, a bit of dried herbs, multi-layered, very good, firm finish.
