Description
50% Semillon: Moscatel: 45% Chasselas
A crisp, vibrant field blend. Pipeño has been made in the south of Chile, in Itata, Maule and Bio Bio for centuries, as a thirst quenching every day wine. The name came about because it was made in raulí oak vats, known as pipas.
Grapes are handpicked and pressed in a basket press. The fermentation, which
takes 2-3 weeks is with natural yeasts in circular concrete tanks with no
temperature control. The wine is then aged on lees in old oak barrels and
concrete globes, before bottling without fining nor filtration and just a touch of
Sulphur used at bottling.
