Description

A small quinta owned by Quinta do Noval, a traditional Port house with an emphasis on the importance of the vineyard. The company is named after its vineyard, and its principal Vintage Ports, Quinta do Noval Nacional and Quinta do Noval are both single-vineyard wines. The Silval is the rarest of the three Vintage Ports made here. It is declared only in very good years and is made in the traditional way. Having spent 18 months in oak casks, the wine is allowed to develop in the bottle (it will throw a deposit and need decanting). The Silval Vintage combines power, complexity, and concentration with a forward, fruity style making it approachable when quite young but also quite memorable with bottle age.
