Well, this was a showstopper. Incredibly dark in colour, with both the appearance and consistency of motor oil, and phenomenal depth here. It's impossible to catalogue the full range of flavour here, from figgy and nutty sherried notes to sweeter caramel and dark chocolate, and then other herbal and more savoury elements. It's immensely sweet, but also really well balanced with powerful acids and a finish that feels endless. Just an incredibly complex wine and a pleasure to sit down with at the end of the night
