Vinous: 93+ points
from a vineyard planted in 2011 very close to the mountains, featuring alluvial and calcareous soil and huge rocks): Red-ruby. Musky, slightly wild aromas of violet, smoked meat, chalk and leather, plus a whiff of honey. Sweet but quite firm on the palate, offering fully ripe, rather robust flavors of black raspberry, chocolate and saline minerality. Slightly rustic in a noble way. This full-bodied Malbec finishes very long, with big, dusty tannins and an impression of chocolatey ripeness. The most powerful of these Calcáreo bottlings–and in need of patience.
