Vinous: 91 points
(aged in 25% new oak for 18 months; from unirrigated vineyards): Bright ruby-red. Some exotic oaky lift to the aromas of raspberry, redcurrant, woodsmoke and peppery herbs. Fine-grained and sweet, showing much more ripeness and depth than the Dolomite Cabernet Franc, not to mention more sweetness from oak. Delivers classic Cabernet Franc character without being overly green, as the wine's herbal component is nicely buffered by its fuller mid-palate (it was also probably minimized by slower, better ripening of this fruit). Finishes with firm but fine-grained tannins and excellent length.
