In its second vintage, the 2016 Botani Muscat is Ordoñez's answer to commercial Moscato from Italy. It is a moderate-alcohol, sweet Moscatel de Alejandría with a light sparkle, as it's fermented in closed vats to capture the CO2 produced during the fermentation. It's less sweet than the majority of wines in this category (it has some 60 grams of sugar), with a fine sparkle tingling your palate and coming through as very balanced and not too sweet, keeping the freshness and the floral character of the grape. Very pleasant.
