Description
The pale, young and lively Akemi was produced with Viura grapes from the village of Quel, close to Alfaro, where the winery is located. It's very perfumed and fruit-driven despite its five months in oak barrels. It was selected by sushi master Félix Jiménez from the Kiro Sushi restaurant in Logroño and bottled with a Japanese label (it looks like a bottle of sake), with a name that means brightness and beauty. He says it's “a white from Rioja with a Japanese spirit.” The wine has a very intense nose that's perfumed and a little tropical, and the palate is soft, with moderate acidity, denoting a warm year.
